Let me feel your tender winds
beneath my tired and aching arms,
that I may catch a much needed breath.
Let me lay my weary head
in the comfort of your bosom,
close my tired eyes,
sleep a while.
And if, when I wake from my slumber,
I have sailed away into the silence
of a sombre summers eve,
may you remember me, still, with a smile.
For there in the dusky distance,
across wild, raging oceans,
strong, swaying forests
and the sighing sands of the deserts…
…though time and distance tore us apart,
ever will I be smiling
upon your warm, tender heart.
