She wore a silver dress
stitched with finest silken thread,
silver shoes and matching gloves
and a tiara upon her head.
She sat on the silver sheets
of her soft and sumptuous bed
wondering why she had to go
when she could play outside instead
These parties are all so dull she thought
as she watched a silver mouse
eating a chunk of mouldy cheese
it had brought from outside the house.
“Oh my little silver mouse, she sighed
you walk such a simple trail”
“That’s easy for you to say”, it replied
“you don’t have a silver tail!”
“I would gladly bear you silver tail
if it would free me of all these events.
On lush green lawns eating silver prawns
all under a large silver tent!”
The silver mouse gave a twitch of its nose
and the room seemed to spin like a top
spectacular sparkles and silver stars
till eventually it all seemed to stop
She felt very strange, something wasn’t quite right
as everything looked so big.
With a swish of her tail, she let out a wail
and started to dance quite a jig.
“Be careful how you wish my little silver maid,
for sometimes you get as you call.”
Giggled a huge silver mouse in its new silver gown,
“And now I am off to the ball”
She sat on her silver haunches
wondering what she was going to do.
She spotted the piece of stale cheese
and decided to have a small chew.
And with that she decided to go out and play
and see what she found on her trail.
With her sweet silver whiskers and twitchy nose
and her swishing long silver tail.
