To gaze at the gleam

in your deep loving eyes,

across the heavens I’d soar,

to find the brightest burning star

to warm the sweet face I adore.

To you, I would give

the universe, entire,

just to see the smile on your face,

to feed the fires

deep within your heart

and the heat of your tender embrace.

For you, my love,

I would lay down my life

in a heartbeat, without second thought,

for the beat of your heart

drives the blood in my veins

and without your deep breath,

I have nought.

Like the burning sun

in the heavens above

you shed light

on my darkest dismay,

but more than that,

you’re the reason I wake

and give thanks

each and every day.

    1. Yes indeed, Lynne. 32yrs now and loving every minute with her. I tend to dwell on the darker stuff, (most popular) but I like to surprise people every now and then. 🙃𝘹

Oh, how lovely. May I use this in my 42nd Anniversary card (sometimes I make the card, but only) for my husband? This poem speaks my heart’s language and feelings for my life partner. Thank you for your passion for your wife.
