I’ve tried, (in the piece below), to put into words how I’ve been feeling this last month or so… why I’ve not been writing, posting & keeping up with all my friends on here, social media & the many groups & web sites that I am proudly a part of, as much as I could, (should?).

It is pretty raw in form and content as I didn’t want to over-work it, doing so can often dampen-down the original feelings and mood.

Thank you all for your kindness, patience & support.

I’ve been quiet of late,

the creaking hinges on the gate

of my old rusting life

are slowly stiffening

and I’d be seriously surprised

if anybody was still listening.

The flickering flame

on the candle my life

once burning so bright,

now disturbed by the breath

of dreaded darkness

creeping closer in the night.

The ghosts of time;

of long dead dreams

and walks down memory lanes,

like the waxing flame

marking lost time,

overcome by lifes aches and pains.

And the pills that I pop

from the bottle and box

are now growing more pointless

in their passionate performance.

The Pen And The Page

growing greyer by the day

and like the fluffy white clouds

ever more fleeting,

floating away……

Darren, We understand as many of us too are facing debilitating circumstances. Just keep the pen moving when you can. We do await and care so much for you.

So beautifully written and although your circumstances may not be the best, your writing will connect with many. We have all been given struggles in which we would rather not have, but I believe God allows us the opportunities to use it to benefit others.
You have been missed. I’ve checked your blog often for new posts but just thought, like many of us, get busy and our blogs are sometimes put aside. I spologize for not letting you know you were missed.
I hope your spirits continue to have the desire to write. You are an inspiration even in your quietness!😃

People listen to silence, too, Darren, and often with great empathy…

  5. While I believe that for you, all this is true, you have not lost your ability to express it with such grace and beauty, sit with the pain, and then let it go when it’s ready. I hope maybe, writing this helped you to work thrugh it.
