HIGH SCORE

(A look back in time to the dark, distant eighties and the mind of a 19yr old…)

Have pride and joy

but don’t toy with nature,

conserve the future.

Taste, sweet and sour,

changes by the hour.

The two sides of life;

of trouble and strife.

Beg, steal or borrow but

you’ll still pay with sorrow,

for tomorrow never knows

and very seldom shows.

You’ve put the price of freedom,

as high as birds can soar

but that will soon be out of reach

and this you can’t ignore.

But there’s little you can do

except rewrite the score.

    1. Not one of my better. You can see the immaturity of the piece.

I see a 19 year old – pretty damn focused from my point of view. I was a loose cannon
